A public log of things I try

Why I am writing down every idea, side project and startup attempt in one place, including the ones that go nowhere.

I try a lot of things. A tool for teachers. Automation for a friend's accounting practice. Ideas that never left a notebook. Until now the only record was scattered across repos, decks and chat threads, and most of it lived only in my head.

This site is the fix. One page per thing, written when I start it, and edited in place as it goes. Every page carries a status:

  • trying: in progress
  • shipped: live and usable
  • paused: on hold, might come back
  • dropped: stopped, with the reason
  • idea: not started

The point is not to look good. Most experiments fail, and the failed ones teach more than the ones that work. Writing them down forces me to say what I actually tried, what happened, and what I would do differently.

If you have tried something similar, or want to tell me why an idea will not work, the comments are open.
